Formerly of London and Johannesburg he was loved by his friends all over the world and will be missed.

Alida Elzabé Haskins (née van Heerden) widow (27-Mar-1927~04-Dec-2012). Beloved wife for 57 years of Sam Haskins (1926~2009)
Loving mother of her sons Konrad and Ludwig Haskins, grandmother of Oren and Amelia Haskins and sister of Bes and Kittie.
Daughter of Jan and Bessie van Heerden of Witfontein South Africa.
Formerly of London and Johannesburg she was loved by her friends all over the world and will be missed.
On a personal note my parents adopted my sister Heidi who died as an infant.

This site is run by Sam's son Konrad (aka Kondi) Haskins. 

It is my personal way to share memories of my father.  Sam Haskins was  a wonderful father with a rich life story. My goal is with time to offer a glimpse at the real Sam Haskins that I knew.  Sam came from very provincial roots in South Africa with his own father working and retiring from the Rail Road.  He ended up in his final days with an exhibition of his work in New York City sponsored by Tommy Hilfiger and featured on CNN.  I was around for most of that journey and it's a story worth sharing. There is  biography here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Haskins .  The Wikipedia entry talks about Sam's son running his website, for clarification that is my brother not me.  These are my personal memories of Sam and it will always be a work in progress.
